The project upgraded the second of two treatment plant used to treat Mississippi River water for potableFridley use. The major treatment process utilized ultrafiltration downstream of lime pretreatment.

SPI Role:
SPI assisted the agency as the major membrane process consultant, supporting the pilot testing and procurement of the membrane system. SPI was responsible for the development of a test protocol for a second nine-month verification testing program. SPI reviewed operating data from the testing program and contributed to the final report on the design criteria for each of the qualified manufacturers. SPI provided technical specifications and input to the membrane system procurement documents for the project.
