Originally constructed as a 7.8 mgd facility in 2000, the facility was expanded in 2006 to 11.3 mgd by
San Patricioadding membrane modules to the existing Pall Membrane Filtration Units. This expansion (from 300 modules to 420 modules) increased facility capacity.

SPI Role:
SPI designed the improvements to the Pall system which now incorporates a modified version of the EFM process to allow periodic chlorination of the system to reduce membrane fouling. SPI also designed improvements to the system, including a chlorine dioxide feed system and a pump station and reservoir that is used to supply an industrial customer.
