The Phase IV Expansion of West Basin Municipal Water District’s main treatment facility provided an
increase in production of reclaimed water for the Seawater Barrier and replacement of the lime clarification pretreatment system with microfiltration in the original Phase I facilities.

SPI Role:
SPI was retained to oversee the pilot testing and procurement documents for the microfiltration system (including both submerged and pressurized technologies). Additionally, SPI provided the detailed design of the 3.5 mgd reverse osmosis plant expansion as well as supervision in construction and startup.
